Black Box Bakery (known to many as Black Box Donuts) is a premium fresh bakery brand based in Newcastle, County Down, Northern Ireland. Every product is baked fresh to order and delivered next-day across the UK and Ireland, direct to the customer through blackboxdonuts.co.uk and TikTok Shop.
The brand is best known for inventing two original products: the Conut® — a trademarked, design-patented donut ice cream cone — and the Donnolli, a donut-cannoli hybrid filled with fresh cream, dipped in chocolate and finished with confectionery toppings. Alongside these signature creations, Black Box Bakery produces hand-decorated donut gift boxes and Little Dohs mini donuts, with an ambition to become the UK's most innovative bakery brand — premium gifting, creator-led collaborations and product concepts you won't find anywhere else.

The Conut® story
The Conut began with a simple question in the bakery: why does ice cream get a biscuit when it could have a donut? The answer — a crisp, coconut-infused donut baked into a cone shape — turned out to be something nobody had protected before. Black Box trademarked the name and patented the design, making the Conut one of the few genuinely proprietary products in UK baking.
Today Conuts are supplied to ice cream parlours, dessert bars and events across the UK and Ireland, and the format has become a fixture on social media — a dessert built for the camera as much as the cone. For journalists and creators, it's a rare thing: a food trend story with a registered trademark and a patent number behind it.
The Donnolli
The Donnolli — part donut, part cannoli — is Black Box Bakery's other original: a crisp shell of donut dough filled with fresh cream, dipped in chocolate and topped with favourites like Kinder Bueno, Crunchie and Biscoff.
