What is a Conut?
A Conut is a donut ice cream cone: a crisp, coconut-infused donut baked into a cone shape, ready to be loaded with soft serve, gelato or scooped ice cream. It holds its crunch like a waffle cone but eats like a donut — and it was invented, trademarked and design-patented right here at Black Box Donuts in Newcastle, Co. Down.
The name works twice over: Co(conut) + (Do)nut = Conut. A coconut donut cone. We couldn't not.
How is a Conut different from a normal cone?
A standard wafer or waffle cone is essentially a crisp biscuit — it's a vehicle. A Conut is part of the dessert: the donut dough gives it flavour and a satisfying bite, the coconut adds aroma, and the shape holds ice cream just like a traditional cone.
